What Makes O1DMatch
Different for Athletes

Dashboard Overview

Your athlete dashboard is your command center on O1DMatch. Here's what you'll find:

  • Events & Competitions — Browse upcoming U.S. events and competitions matched to your sport and level.

  • My Letters — View all P-1 letters you've received from event organizers and sponsors, with status indicators (pending, accepted, expired).

  • My Profile — Edit your athlete profile, update your competition history, and manage visibility settings.

  • Documents — Upload and manage competition results, rankings, media coverage, and other evidence of international recognition.

  • Notifications — Real-time alerts when organizers view your profile or send P-1 letters.

Take a moment to explore each section. When you're ready, move on to Step 2.

Events & Competitions

The Events & Competitions section shows you all available U.S. events from organizers, promoters, and sponsors looking for athletes in your sport. Here's how to use it:

  • Filter by sport — Narrow results to events in your specific discipline.

  • Filter by location — Search by city, state, or region.

  • Filter by event type — Tournament, exhibition, championship, showcase, or invitational.

  • Filter by date range — Find events that fit your schedule and travel timeline.

  • Filter by letter type — Show events offering Competition Invitations, Sponsorship Letters, or both.

  • Save events — Bookmark competitions you're interested in to review later.

When an organizer or sponsor sends you a P-1 letter, it will appear in your My Letters section with all the details you need.

Evidence & Documents

Your evidence is what proves your international recognition. The Documents section lets you upload and organize the materials that demonstrate your athletic achievements. Recommended uploads:

  • Competition Results — Official results, scorecards, brackets, or placement records from international competitions.

  • Rankings — Current or historical rankings from recognized governing bodies, federations, or sports organizations.

  • Media Coverage — News articles, interviews, broadcast clips, or sports publication features documenting your career and achievements.

  • Awards & Titles — Documentation of championships, titles, medals, or other competitive honors.

  • Letters of Recommendation — Statements from coaches, federation officials, or recognized figures in your sport.

  • Competition Photos/Video — Visual evidence of your participation in international events.

All documents are stored securely and are only shared with organizers and sponsors after you accept a P-1 letter.

P-1 Letters

This is the core of O1DMatch for athletes. When an event organizer or sponsor wants to bring you to the U.S. to compete, they generate a USCIS-compliant P-1 letter through the platform. Here's how the process works:

  • Organizer or sponsor sends a P-1 letter — You'll receive a notification that a new letter is available in your My Letters section.

  • Review the letter — Each letter includes the event or sponsor details, your role, compensation, travel/lodging arrangements, event schedule, and all information required for a P-1 visa petition.

  • Accept or decline — If the opportunity is right for you, accept the letter. Your identity will be revealed to the organizer or sponsor, and they will provide all supporting documentation for your P-1 petition.

  • Connect and prepare — Once accepted, you and the organizer or sponsor can communicate directly to finalize travel, logistics, and competition preparation.

You may receive both Competition Invitation Letters and Sponsorship Letters. You can hold and compare multiple letters before accepting.
